Bio: My name is Ryan Kennett! I am originally from the foothills outside of Golden, and I will be going into my senior year at Mines. I am majoring in Quantitative Biosciences and Engineering and minoring in Public Affairs through the McBride program. I am interested in pursuing a career in microbial ecology and politics, hoping to understand the unique landscapes of the Western United States and use that scientific perspective to influence environmental policy, while also fitting in a backpacking trip or two.
I started my journey in Undergraduate Student Government two years ago, joining the Executive Board as the Co-Director of Communications, a role where I directly engaged with members of the senate to implement initiatives and events. I worked to coordinate and plan events and promote the important role of USG on campus – from filling my 95’ Tacoma truck bed up with water for M-Climb to ensuring professional and prompt communication for more formal events. I met my family in USG, and have wanted to come back ever since to serve the Mines community.
