Bio:Hello! My name is Jasmeen Hothi and I am a Junior studying Electrical Engineering here at Mines. After two amazing years within USG’s senate, I am so excited to serve as USG Vice President! As a first-generation college student with an immigrant background, I joined USG as the DEI&A Chair in my Freshman year because I understand what it feels like to navigate systems that aren’t designed with everyone in mind. During this time, I built a strong foundation in how USG operates and how to empathetically advocate for students in a way that transforms their ideas into real results. In my Sophomore year, I served as the Director of USG’s Student Advocacy Committee, focusing on both the everyday student experience and the larger systems that shape it. We helped plan and fund events like I-DAY, and allocated the JEDI Fund to support community-building events like SHPE Fiesta, SASE Night Festival, and more. This year, I will continue to create an inclusive and supportive student experience, one where students from every background, major, and level of involvement can find their place and have their concerns taken seriously.
