Helluva Service Fall Clean Up
USG’s Fall 2026 Service Event is Approaching Fast!
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Colorado School of Mines’ Undergraduate Student Government (USG) will hold its 9th annual Helluva Service project. Volunteers will travel around the City of Golden to offer support by cleaning outdoor spaces, bagging leaves, trimming trees/bushes, cleaning gutters, and more. This fall, the Colorado School of Mines’ Undergraduate Student Government will be holding its annual Helluva Service Project on Saturday, November 7, 2026.
This event intends to provide support to Golden’s local organizations and neighbors who may need a helping hand. We will be offering our time and assistance to ensure everyone in town can feel untroubled and confident going into this winter season.
Service hour(s) acknowledgement available upon request.
Morning Shift:
- Free breakfast & snacks provided!
- Check-in begins at 8:00AM
- Working hours are from 9:00AM-1:00PM
* You do not need a car. Carpools will be available from the Mines campus!

Project Proposal Information
Do you or your organization have an outdoor space that needs some care? Do you have a neighbor who endures mobility issues that prevent them from cleaning gutters, raking leaves, or moving debris? Perhaps you know of a local trail that would benefit from a light cleanup?
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the Colorado School of Mines’ Undergraduate Student Government (USG) will be holding its annual Helluva Service Project. Volunteers will be traveling around the City of Golden to offer support to our beloved community. We need your help to find projects in our neighborhood!
Volunteers will be working in the morning from 9:00AM to 1:00 PM. Site proposals will close on October 1st.
Requirements:
- Projects must be located in Golden, CO.
- Student volunteers will not use power tools.
- Student volunteers may choose to not climb ladders.
- Your project must be fully achievable in 4 hours by a small group of volunteers.
- A project contact must be available during your project’s assigned times to instruct and assist volunteers.
**USG may deny any project that does not meet the above requirements. We prioritize projects that align with our criteria and goals.
** Please note that while we strive to handle all materials and property with care, volunteers will not be held responsible for damage that may occur during the Helluva Service Project.
** We encourage project contacts to provide any equipment or supplies which may help the volunteers complete their tasks. If more materials are needed, volunteers will have access to a small stock of supplies before their shifts begin. Please coordinate these needs with your service team.
